Leadership & Staff Bios
Charlie is married to his high school sweet heart Nicole, and they have 5 daughters. He appreciates and fails with the blessings and challenges that come with raising the girls into godly young women. Charlie loves spending time in situations where he can teach and be a light for the gospel. Whether with his girls, his church family or on the softball field coaching, these are priorities.
Not growing up in a gospel saturated church, Charlie heard the gospel at AWANA growing up as a child. In Junior High he heard it again and made a decision to receive God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and Christ alone. Not really having anyone come alongside him, not much changed in his life.
At the age of 24 his oldest daughter was born and God brought him to his knees to surrender his life to Christ and to make Him Lord of his life. Charlie's favorite verse is; 1 John 5:12, “Whoever has the Son has life, whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
Chuck is married to Jolie, has 5 children (1 deceased) and 5 grandchildren. He is retired to part-time work where needed.
He was raised in a true Christian home but lived rebelliously until 3 yrs ago. He cites in his testimony: "The Lord has been very patient with me and it took some hard times to humble me and help me recognize how very much I need Jesus, I asked Jesus to be the center of my life 3 yrs ago in my bedroom. Soon after I began coming to White Oak Church through a friend's suggestion. I love the Lord for all He's done and doing and for helping me begin changing into who He intends for me to be. White Oak Church has given me leadership, strength, support and the friends I needed to help my walk with Christ."
Chuck faithfully serves White Oak as a Deacon and is glad to call them his family.
Chris is married to Kelly and has two children. They serve the church body in many ways. Chris started his walk with Christ around 1987. He knew he was a sinner and needed to be saved by the grace of God. He states "I am a work in progress, but I know that my faith and love for Christ has grown over the years." Chris had some significant health issues last year and was able to recover due to the love and prayers of my Church Family. He appreciates the support from the church family and knows they will always be there to lift him up!
Connie is married to Kevin and has 3 children. She enjoys her current position as a secretary for North Polk High School-which keeps her feeling young.
While she acknowledged her need to be saved from her sin at the age of 9, her understanding of what that should look like in her life started at 27, when their firstborn arrived. Since that time, her journey in the faith has had its hills and valleys, but has grown. Since coming to White Oak Church, she has developed a desire to live her life with gratitude in response to what Jesus has done and continues to do. This freedom in Christ has been largely influenced by the teaching and example of the church family of White Oak.
